Nissan Sales Increase 14.6% in July

Nissan North America, Inc. (NNA) reported July sales of 82,337 units versus 71,847 units a year earlier, an increase of 14.6 percent compared with July 2009. Nissan Division sales rose 12.1 percent for the month, while sales of Infiniti vehicles were 37.6 percent higher than a year before.

Nissan May Extend EV Production

The all new Nissan Leaf hasn't even hit dealership lots yet, and the car is already sold out of its 2011 model year. Due to the widely successful pre-oder sales, Nissan is thinking about expanding its electric vehicle line up.

This comes after the auto maker announced it had the largest amount of "conquest sales" for the Leaf - a "conquest sale" is when one auto maker sways buyers away from the competition, getting them onto dealership lots to purchase their cars instead, like the yet to be released Leaf EV.

Nissan 370Z ZCon 2010
