Nismo is the name of Nissan's performance brand, known for enhancement of new Nissan vehicles like Nissan Juke and 370Z. In fact, the special edition Juke RS by Nismo is one of their top selling variants so far this year.

Nissan is looking to expand their Nismo performance brand with updated "RS" packages. Executive VP of Nissan Andy Palmer explained an expansion of Nismo products is underway, and will include more engine upgrades. He added the Japanese auto maker hopes to expand knowledge of the Nismo, which is a name derived from "Nissan Motorsports International Co. Ltd." He feels the brand is not well known outside of tuning and racing circles.

"There will be Nismo packages for the suspension and the Nismo RS packages that will include engine tunes," Palmer said. ¹

The latest run of 370Z Nismos have been turbocharged, boosting the model's 3.7-liter V6 by 18 horsepower. Nismo also recently announced plans to move their HQ 2013 to a larger location, which is still undisclosed. It's part of their plan of expansion.

As of this posting, there have been no specific details on the new Nismo RS releases.
