When the Nissan LEAF first appeared on the market, many questioned exactly how well it would retain its value. Many suspected it wouldn't. Given the fact it was the first mainstream EV to hit the market, Nissan Sunnyvale can't say we were all that surprised? regardless of how confident we were that the LEAF would prove all of the naysayers wrong.

Happily, we were right. According to the NADA Official Car Guide's recent report, the Nissan LEAF does a better job of holding a candle to rivaling hyper fuel-efficient petrol-powered models than originally thought.

Just how good is that?

Well, for the 2011, it's 95-percent of the tax-credit-adjusted sticker price.

In addition to delivering drivers envious resale value,  the Nissan LEAF (now available nationwide) promises drivers, a top speed of 90 miles per hour, seating for five, zero trips to the gas station, a 100-mile range/charge and high-response 80kWh electric motor among many other things.

Perhaps most important, it's fun to drive. As one new Nissan LEAF owner says, "I have had my Nissan LEAF since August 2011. To say that I'm a happy owner would be a major understatement! I love this car! Besides the cool factor, I like the styling, the comfort, the acceleration, the touch-screen display, the reverse camera, the dashboard and the feeling that I can drive all around and not use a drop of gas."¹
