Nissan LEAF Eco-Product of the Year

Nissan will be an honored guest at Japan's Eco-Products 2010 event, an exhibition of environmentally-friendly products and services. This year's theme is "Green x Clean Revolution! Expand the power to connect lives to the world." It's an attempt to raise awareness to the issues of resource depletion and biodiversity conservation.

The Japanese automaker, with its all new LEAF EV, has shown Nissan's commitment to reduce CO2 emissions, and will promote a sustainable mobility society. In fact, the spotlight in the automaker's booth will be on their 'complete clean mobility solution,' the all-electric, zero-emission Nissan LEAF.
Those in attendance will be able to test-drive the world's first mass-market (and affordable) EV before dealerships receive it on December 20.

Nissan will present its vision of a "zero-emission mobility society: via a 'Smart House' that features a next-generation electricity management system installed, the Nissan LEAF and EV batteries, as well as a three-dimensional scale model of a future city with EVs and a cut model of the LEAF, displaying the internal mechanisms of the car.

In addition, the car company's Eco-drive Navigator function will be installed in future models, and will also be available for testing by visitors.

The event is hosted by the Japan Environmental Management Association for Industry and Nikkei Inc. and will take place from December 9 through 11, 2010, at the Tokyo Big Sight.
